If you head down to Thakurpukur and find Palli Mangal Colony, you’ll find us at number 71. We go by Amantrani. It’s a small operation we run out of this neighborhood. We started doing this because we noticed people around here were always looking for someone to cook for their family gatherings. We aren't a big factory or anything like that. It's just a few of us in the kitchen making sure the dal is seasoned right and the meat is tender. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. Our days start very early, usually with a trip to the market to see what is good that day. We try to keep things simple and honest. If a customer wants something we can’t do, we just tell them. We don't like to make promises we can't keep. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to get the deliveries out on time through the colony roads, but we try our best to stay on schedule. We've lived in Thakurpukur for a long time, so we know most of our customers by their faces. It makes the work feel more personal. We just want to keep cooking and helping out with the local feasts whenever we can. It’s not a fancy business, just a way to make a living doing something we know how to do.
