Calcutta Kitchen Private Limited is located at 143 Santoshpur Avenue. This is a residential area mostly, so it feels a bit more relaxed than the city center. We operate out of a ground floor space where we do all our food preparation. The kitchen stays busy from early morning until late at night. We get our vegetables from the local market nearby every day. It’s important to have fresh stuff, even if it means waking up before the sun is out. Santoshpur Avenue can get quite narrow with all the parked bikes and cars, so when the delivery vans come, it’s always a bit of a squeeze. We have a few burners going at once and the sound of pans clanking is the soundtrack of our day. The walls have a few cracks here and there, but the place is kept scrubbed and clean. We don't have a big sign outside, just enough for people to know where we are. Our team consists of people who just like to cook and get things done. We don't spend much time talking; we are usually too busy chopping or cleaning. It's a simple operation and we like it that way. We've been in this neighborhood for a while and have gotten to know the people living around us. It’s a decent place to work and the work itself is honest.
