Our setup is tucked away at 9/E Rupchand Mukherjee Lane. It’s one of those narrow Kolkata lanes where everyone knows each other. Tapan Barik handles a lot of the day-to-day stuff here. We’ve been doing catering for a long time, mostly for local events and families who need a hand with the food. It gets pretty frantic in the kitchen when a big wedding or a party is coming up. We have big pots going all the time, and there's always someone peeling something or stirring a curry. The heat in the kitchen gets intense, but we're used to it by now. We don't have a big front desk or anything. It's mostly just the cooking area and where we load the vans. We started small and just kept going because people liked what we were making. It’s hard work, carrying heavy crates and making sure the food stays hot until it gets to the venue. We’ve seen a lot of changes in the neighborhood over the years, but our little spot on the lane stays pretty much the same. We just focus on the recipes we’ve always used and try not to mess with what works. It’s a busy life, but it keeps us going. No fancy titles here, just people who know how to feed a crowd. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s ours and we’ve been doing it a long time now. We just stay focused on the cooking and making sure the containers are ready to go.
