If you know the 234 bus stand in Belgharia, you’ve probably walked right past us at some point. We are at 2/3 Nawab Abdul Latif Street. It’s a convenient spot because of the buses, though the noise can be a lot sometimes during the morning rush. The shop itself isn't very large. We keep a variety of things here, mostly stuff we think people in the neighborhood might actually need. Sometimes the stock stays on the shelves longer than we’d like, and other times it’s gone in a single day. It’s hard to predict. We open early most mornings. My brother and I take turns being here so the place is never left unattended. The building is older, so we’re always fixing a leak or painting a wall. It keeps us busy. People stop in while waiting for their bus, sometimes just to ask for directions or check the time. We don't mind. It’s part of being in this location. The street is always dusty, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the glass and the counters. It’s just a normal way to earn a living. We aren't trying to be the biggest or anything like that. We just want to keep the shop running and make sure the bills are paid. It's a lot of manual work, lifting boxes and arranging displays, but it's what we know. The fan in the back makes a weird clicking sound, but it still works.
