Burdwan Jutex Udyog

Our place is on Belgachia Road, right by the police chowki. If you know the area, you know how noisy it gets with the sirens and the traffic. We do stuff with jute. Burdwan Jutex Udyog is the name on the door. It’s an old building, number 83/e/ib/h/19, a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. We have machines running and there is always that heavy smell of raw jute in the air. It’s not a clean office job at all. We get our hands dirty every day. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the terrible traffic on the main road. The police at the chowki know us well enough by now. We make bags and other things out of the fiber. It’s steady work but very tiring. The walls could use some fresh paint, I guess. We don’t really have a big reception area or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will be around to talk. We deal with a lot of local buyers. The jute piles up high sometimes in the corners. It’s a lot of lifting and moving. My back usually hurts by the end of the long week. We’ve been at this address for a long time now. People come in to ask prices or check the quality of the fiber. We just tell them how it is. No fancy brochures here. Just hard work and a lot of dust everywhere in the workshop.
