Baroyari Ranna

Baroyari Ranna has been sitting here in Sreenagar, Kolkata for a while now. We are right by the 2 No area near Durgamondap. Most days we just spend our time in the kitchen getting things ready for the day. It isn't a fancy place with big bright lights or anything like that. The floor tiles are a bit old and stained in the corners, but we keep them clean enough. We just cook the food like how people usually eat at home. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when everyone comes in at once, but we manage somehow. My family helps out and we have a few staff who feel like family too. We started this because we liked feeding people in the neighborhood. You can find us at the address in Sreenagar if you are walking around. We don't have a very big sign but the smell of the spices usually tells people where we are located. It is just a small local spot. We use the same heavy pots and pans we've had for many years. There’s no big secret to what we do here. We just show up every morning, clean the vegetables, and start the stove. If someone asks for a bit extra gravy on their plate, we just give it to them. That’s just how it works in this part of Kolkata. Sometimes we run out of things early if the market didn't have what we needed that morning. It's a simple life running a kitchen like this. We appreciate the local people who stop by.
