Bapi Hair Cutting Saloon is right here in the Sulanguri Colony area of Jagatpur. We are on the ground floor, which makes it easy for people to just walk in from the street without climbing any stairs. Being in Aswini Nagar in Kolkata means there is always something going on outside. We are quite close to the Dhalai Bridge, so most locals use that as a landmark to find us. I started this place because I wanted to work in my own neighborhood. It is a small shop, nothing too big or loud. You can usually hear the fans humming and the sound of scissors moving. Most of our regulars live nearby in the colony, so we see the same faces every week. It feels more like a community spot than just a business. Sometimes we sit and chat while working, and other times it is just quiet. We keep our tools clean and the floor swept as much as we can.
