Ashok Mehra Caterer

Our business, Ashok Mehra Caterer, is located at 3 A, Chowringhee Place. If you know the area, you know it stays busy pretty much all day and night. We’ve been operating from this spot for quite some time now. It’s an old building, but it has plenty of space for what we need to do. I usually get in early to check the inventory. We handle all sorts of gatherings, from small family dinners to bigger office functions. Chowringhee Place is a central location, which makes it easy for our staff to get to work. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here a long time. People around here know me by name. The kitchen is always buzzing with noise, especially during the wedding season. It can be stressful, but we like the energy. We try to keep things organized, though sometimes the paperwork piles up on my desk. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just us, the stoves, and the delivery vans. We buy our spices from the same guy we’ve used for a decade. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for us. We just want to make sure the food is hot and everyone gets fed. That’s pretty much our whole day, every day. We don't mind the noise of the city much anymore because we are used to the rhythm of this place.
