Aquarius Logistics Pvt Ltd is on the ground floor over at 1B Nalini Guha Sarani, which most people still call Outram Street. We’re right in the Circus Avenue area of Kolkata. Being on the ground floor is handy because people can just walk right in off the street. It’s an old building with a lot of character, and our office is filled with the usual stuff like desks, old files, and a few computers. Outram Street can be quite a bottleneck for traffic, so we hear the honking and the city noise all day long. We work on logistics, which in our case means a lot of phone calls and tracking shipments. It’s not a high-tech setup with big screens on every wall. It’s more about knowing who to call and how to get things cleared through the system. We have tea together in the afternoons and talk about the day’s problems. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up, or a delivery is late because of a strike or a festival, but we just take it as it comes. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a while and have a good sense of how things move around here. It’s a small, dedicated group of us just doing the daily grind of moving goods and managing the supply chain without any unnecessary bells and whistles. We keep the doors open and just handle whatever tasks the day brings us.
