Hotel Murali Pure Veg is tucked away in the City Point building over at Shivaji Chowk. If you've ever been to Kolhapur, you know how crowded it gets around the Mahalaxmi Temple. We are just a short walk from there, which means we see a lot of people who are coming or going from their prayers. Being a pure veg place is important to us and the people who visit this part of town. The kitchen starts early, usually before the sun is even up, because there is always prep work to do with the vegetables and getting the stove going. Shivaji Chowk is a loud place, always full of traffic and people shouting, but once you get inside City Point and find us at 325 C, it feels a bit more grounded. We aren't trying to be a five-star spot with fancy decorations and velvet curtains. We just have tables and chairs and food that tastes like it should. I spend most of my time watching the door or checking the supplies in the back room. It’s a lot of work keeping things clean, especially with so many people coming in with dust on their shoes from the temple walk. We’ve been at this for a while and we just like serving the local crowd and the travelers who need a good meal without any meat in it before they continue their journey.
