Dhavakhana

Dhavakhana is located right on the Main Road in Sangli. We kept the name simple because that’s exactly what we are—a clinic for the people here. Sangli’s Main Road is one of the busiest places you can imagine, with shops, banks, and people everywhere. Our clinic is tucked into this busy street, and we’ve been here for many years. The building is older and has that classic Sangli look to it. Inside, it’s a very basic setup. We have wooden benches for people to sit on and the walls are painted a plain color that’s seen better days. We don’t have a fancy waiting room with television or air conditioning. It’s just a functional space where we do our daily work. You can hear the city noise all day long—the bells from the temples, the scooters, and the people shouting to each other. We get all kinds of people coming in, from students to old-timers who have lived in Sangli their whole lives. Most of them are in a hurry, so we try to be quick and practical. There’s no corporate feel here at all. It’s just a local clinic run by local people. We don’t do any advertising or anything like that. People know where we are because we are right on the road and we’ve always been here. It’s just a regular part of life on the Main Road.
