Our little office is at Plot Number 25 in the village of Nara, which is part of the Kheri area in Jalab. Gauravashali Kissan Producer Companylimited sounds like a long name, but to us, it’s just the group we formed to help each other out. Living in Nara, you get used to the rhythm of the seasons. Right now, everyone is focused on the soil and what the next month will bring. We set up this company because it felt like the right thing to do for the local families who have been farming these plots for generations. The building itself is just a plain spot where we keep our records and meet up when the sun gets too hot to work outside. It’s not decorated or anything, just functional. We have a lot of conversations about the best way to handle the harvest and how to deal with the bugs this year. It’s just regular talk between people who have calluses on their hands. We don't use any of those big corporate words because they don't really mean much when you're standing in a field. Sometimes the logistics of getting things to Jalab can be tricky, but we manage. We’re just local people trying to keep our heritage going while making sure the farm stays productive. It’s a lot of long hours, but when you see the green shoots coming up, it feels like it’s worth the effort. It is just the way we live.
