Abhishekteki Kunda Farmer Producercompany Limited

Abhishekteki Kunda Farmer Producercompany Limited is situated in the village of Teki Kunda, over in Kheri. We operate from Dhani Ram’s home, which is a busy place most of the time. Kheri has good soil, but the farmers here often struggle to get a fair deal. We formed this group to try and change that by working together. It’s not a very formal setup. We sit around on plastic chairs and discuss what needs to be bought for the next season. There’s always someone coming in with a question or a sack of grain to show us. We don’t have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy reports. We just do the work. Some days we are out in the sun all afternoon, and other days we are stuck inside doing the accounts while the rain pours down on the tin roof. It’s a bit of a scramble sometimes to get everything organized, but we manage. We know everyone in the village and they know us. There’s a lot of trust involved, and we don’t want to let anyone down. We keep things simple and focus on the day-to-day tasks. If the tractor breaks down or the seed delivery is late, we just figure out a way to fix it. It’s a practical life, and we aren't trying to impress anyone with big titles or glossy brochures. We just want to make sure the harvest gets sold properly.
