Our place, Raj Marine Steels Pvt. Ltd., is out in Chhatral at H-1-7 in Gidc, Phase-I. If you’ve ever been to an industrial estate like this, you know what it’s like. There is always some kind of construction going on or a truck kicking up dust on the main road. Our shed is pretty large because we need the space for all the marine steel parts we handle. It can get pretty loud when the heavy stuff is being moved around, and you definitely need to watch where you’re walking. We spend a lot of our time out on the floor checking the inventory or talking to the drivers. The office part is just a small room with a couple of chairs and a desk where we keep the registers. It’s not very fancy, just functional. In the summers, it gets incredibly hot under the metal roof, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early in the morning before the sun gets too high. We’ve got a small crew, and we all pretty much do a bit of everything, from loading to paperwork. We don’t really bother with big titles or anything like that. We just make sure the marine steel is ready when it’s supposed to be. It’s hard work, and by the time the day ends, everyone is usually pretty tired and ready to head home.
