Gayatri Metalic Foundry

Operating a foundry at 29 G.I.D.C. in V.U. Nagar is heavy work. Gayatri Metalic Foundry isn't a place where you'd want to wear your best clothes. It’s hot, noisy, and there is always the smell of molten metal and sand in the air. We’ve been here for years, and the building shows it. The corrugated metal roof rattles when it rains, and the floor is stained from decades of work. Most of our day is spent around the furnaces or cleaning up the castings. It’s a physical job that leaves you tired by the end of the shift. We don't have a front office with air conditioning; we mostly just talk over the noise of the machinery when we need to discuss a project. People come to us when they need specific metal parts made, and we do what we can with the tools we have. We aren't the biggest foundry in the industrial estate, but we’ve stayed in business because we know our trade well enough. There’s no fancy marketing here, just the sound of hammers and the glow of the fire. Sometimes things go wrong with a mold and we have to start the whole process over, which is frustrating, but that’s just part of the process. We just keep our heads down and get the orders out as fast as we can. It’s honest, hard work and we’ve been doing it a long time for the local industry.
