Shree Umiya Steel Industries. We are located in GIDC Phase-3 at Plot No. 3078. Being in an industrial zone like this means it's always noisy and there’s always something moving. We deal with steel all day long. It's heavy work and it gets pretty hot in the summer months, but that's part of the job. We've got the machines set up to handle different types of steel cutting and shaping. Most of the time we are just focused on the orders that come in. It’s not a place for sitting around. The trucks come in and out of the plot daily to drop off raw material or pick up what we’ve finished. We don’t have a fancy showroom or a big front desk. It’s just the workshop and a small space for the paperwork. We've been in Phase-3 for quite some time, so we know most of the other guys running shops nearby. We help each other out if someone needs a tool or a bit of advice on a tough job. It’s a practical way of living. We don't use big words to describe what we do; we just work with metal. The floor is usually covered in steel shavings and the smell of oil is everywhere. It’s what we know. We just try to get the orders done right and on time without making a big fuss about it. We stay late if the machines act up or the deadline is tight.
