Concept Steel is located in Phase 4 of GIDC, specifically at Plot No. 3421. Steel is heavy and stubborn, and that pretty much describes the work we do here every day. It’s not a quiet place by any means. There is always the sound of cranes moving overhead or the screech of a saw cutting through a thick beam. We deal with a lot of heavy plates and sections that take a lot of muscle and effort to move around. The air inside the shed is usually filled with that metallic smell that sticks to your clothes long after you leave. We don't bother with fancy uniforms; most of us wear old shirts and heavy boots because that’s what makes sense for this kind of labor. The floor is concrete and scarred from years of dropping heavy things on it. In Phase 4, there are always trucks parked along the road, and sometimes getting a delivery into our plot is a bit of a struggle. But we make it work somehow. We aren't the type of people to use big words or make grand promises. We just look at the order, figure out the best way to cut the steel, and get it done. Sometimes things don't go perfectly, or a machine breaks down, and we have to spend the whole afternoon fixing it with a heavy wrench. It’s just regular life in an industrial park. We go home tired every day, but that’s fine with us.
