S. S. G. K. Granites & Tiles

We are out here at Plot No. 153/2 in the I.D.A. area. Khanapuram Haveli is where the yard is. S. S. G. K. Granites & Tiles has been on this plot for a bit. It’s a lot of heavy lifting every day. The stone comes in on trucks and we move it around. It gets pretty dusty, especially in the afternoons. We have stacks of granite all over the place. Tiles too. You can find us near the other industrial units. It’s not a fancy showroom with air conditioning. We just have the slabs and the samples out. People come by to look at the patterns. Every piece of stone is different. We spend a lot of time checking the stock. Khanapuram Haveli is a busy spot for this kind of thing. We just try to get the orders right. Sometimes the sun is really hot on the yard. We wear boots and work hard. It’s a family-run kind of thing. Not many people here, just a few of us. We know our tiles. The granite is heavy so we use the crane a lot. If you come to Plot 153/2, you’ll see the stacks. We don’t have a big marketing budget. Just the yard and the stone. It’s a simple business. We like the work. It keeps us moving and the days go by fast. There is always stone to move and customers to help.
