If you walk toward Gandhi Chowk in Moti Nagar, you’ll find us at 2-3. We’ve been running Sri Venkateswara Granites from this spot for a while. Moti Nagar is a crowded area, so managing the space for all these heavy slabs is always a bit of a puzzle. We have to be careful when the trucks arrive because the street isn't exactly wide. My brother and I usually handle the unloading ourselves unless it's a really big shipment. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we've been at Gandhi Chowk long enough for people to know we are here. The shop is pretty basic. We have some samples leaning against the walls and a few benches. A lot of the time, the air is thick with the smell of wet stone because we’re always washing off the dust so people can see the actual patterns. It’s manual labor, plain and simple. We get tired by the end of the day, but that’s just part of the job. People come in with measurements written on scraps of paper, and we do our best to find a piece that fits. We don't promise anything fancy, just that we will show you what we’ve got in the yard. It is a local business and we like it that way. We know the other shop owners around the chowk and help each other out when we can.
