M.M. Granites

Down at No. 153/2 in the Industrial Development Area of Khalapuram, you will find our yard. It’s not the biggest place, but we have enough room for what we need to do. We spend most of our time dealing with granite blocks and slabs. It’s heavy work, and we’ve all got the sore backs to prove it at the end of the week. Khalapuram is a good place for this kind of business because there are always people building something nearby. We don’t go in for big advertisements or anything like that. Most folks just hear about us from a neighbor or see the sign when they are driving through the industrial area. We keep things pretty straightforward. If someone comes in looking for a particular grain or shade, we show them what we have on the racks. Sometimes we have a lot of stock, and other times we are waiting on a shipment, so it just depends on the day. The guys working here have been with us for a bit, so they know how to handle the machinery without making too much of a fuss. It gets loud when the saws are running, so we usually do the talking in the little front area where it’s a bit quieter. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We just sell stone and try to keep the yard tidy, though that is hard with all the offcuts lying around. That is basically the story of M.M. Granites.
