Maa Santi Singh I.College

Maa Santi Singh I.College is located in Paguvar, which is part of the Shankargarh area in Allahabad. It is a bit of a drive out here, but it is where we have been established for the local students. The college building stands in a fairly quiet spot, which is good for studying. We have students coming in from all the nearby villages. Most of them travel a long way to get here every morning. We focus on the intermediate classes, helping young people finish their schooling so they can figure out what to do next with their lives. The rooms are basic, with wooden desks and blackboards. We don't have a lot of modern technology, but we have teachers who know their subjects well. Shankargarh is known for its stone, and you can see that in the landscape around the college. We spend our days managing the classes and making sure the administrative side of things is handled properly. There is always paperwork to be done. Sometimes we sit outside under the shade when the weather is nice. It is a very grounded place. We don't make big promises, we just provide the lessons and the space for the students to sit their exams. It is a vital part of the local area here in Allahabad and we just keep it running for the youth around here.
