Dr. K N Singh I College

Dr. K N Singh I College is located out in Pahari Kala, which is in the Shankargarh area. It is a bit of a distance from the main city of Allahabad, so things are generally quieter here than they are in the town center. We have been operating out of Naurhiya Uparhar for a while now. The building is simple and serves its purpose for the students who come in from the nearby villages. Most of the folks here are just trying to get their education sorted so they can find work. We have desks, some blackboards, and a few rooms for the administrative stuff. It’s nothing fancy. Sometimes the electricity cuts out for a few hours, but everyone is used to that by now. We just open the windows and keep going. The road leading up to the college can get a bit muddy when it rains, so we all have to watch our step. We aren't trying to be the biggest or most modern place around. We just provide a space for learning in this part of the district. The staff lives mostly nearby and we see the same faces every day. It’s a routine that works for us. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything. We just keep the doors open and do the work that needs doing for the people in this community. It is honest work and we are glad to be here.
