If you head over to Saray Khurd in Allahabad, you’ll find us easily enough. We are a law college, or a Vidhi college as most people call it around here. The atmosphere is a bit different because law students are usually a bit more serious, or at least they try to be when the professors are looking. The building is solid and has that traditional feel you find in this part of Uttar Pradesh. We deal with a lot of paperwork, which I guess is normal for a place teaching law. You’ll see stacks of files on the desks and students carrying thick books under their arms. It’s not a noisy place, except maybe during the breaks when everyone is out in the corridors talking. The area in Saray Khurd is fairly quiet, which helps people focus. We don't have any shiny brochures or big advertisements. Most people find us because they live nearby or have a cousin who studied here. The classrooms have wooden desks that have been around for a long time. They’ve seen a lot of students come and go. Our staff are mostly local people who understand the struggles students face. We just try to make sure the lectures happen on time and that the exams are handled properly. It’s a straightforward operation. We don’t try to be something we’re not. It’s just a place for getting a legal education without any unnecessary fuss.
