Adya Prasad Inter College

Adya Prasad Inter College is situated in a place called Dhoos, in the Devoghat area of Koraon. This is out in the Allahabad district, and it’s a bit different from the schools you find in the middle of a big city. We are surrounded by more open space, and the pace of life is a lot slower here. The college has been serving the local villages for quite a while. It’s a solid building, but like many places around here, it shows its age. We have high ceilings and big windows to help with the heat during the summer months. Most of our students walk or cycle from the nearby areas to get here. It’s a long day for many of them, and we try to make the college a welcoming place. We don't have a big budget for things, so we make do with what we have. The desks are old, and the walls could always use a fresh coat of lime, but the learning happens anyway. Our staff is here for the students, often staying late to help those who are struggling. There’s a sense of community here that you don’t always get in bigger towns. We deal with power cuts and the dust that comes with the dry season, but we don't complain much. It’s just how things are in this part of the country.
