Youhe College

Sanigawan Road is one of those places in Kanpur that never seems to stop. There’s always dust in the air and the sound of machines or vehicles somewhere nearby. Youhe College is located right in the middle of all that. It’s a 208001 address, which is quite central. We have a lot of students who come in from different parts of the city. The building itself isn't anything special to look at from the outside, just a regular structure on a busy street. Inside, it’s a different story. We try to keep the classrooms as organized as we can, though with so many people coming and going, there’s always a bit of a scramble. The desks are the old-fashioned kind, some of them have names carved into the wood from years ago. We spend our mornings checking the registers and making sure the chalk supplies are stocked up. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s our life. The staff usually brings lunch from home and we all sit together when there’s a gap in the schedule. You can hear the market noises coming through the windows all day long. Sometimes we have to shout a little bit just to be heard over a passing truck. It’s just part of being in Kanpur. We’ve been here at this spot for a good while, watching the road change while the college stays pretty much the same. Most of the people around here know us by now and we like it that way.
