Bhaskar Nanda Inter College

If you head out to Narwal in the Kanpur area, you will find Bhaskar Nanda Inter College. It's a place where the local students come for their intermediate years. The building sits in a fairly open spot compared to the crowded city center of Kanpur. We have a gate and a small yard where the students gather. It's not a fancy institution with glass walls or anything like that. It’s a solid brick building that has been serving the Narwal community for a while. The classrooms have high ceilings and large windows to let the air in during those hot Uttar Pradesh summers. You can hear the sounds of the town from the windows. Our teachers are mostly people who have been living in this region their whole lives. They know the students and their families. We follow the standard curriculum and keep our focus on the books. There isn't much in the way of high-tech gear here. We use chalk and boards and have plenty of paper around. It’s an honest place to study. During the exam season, things get very quiet and serious around here. The rest of the year, it’s just the normal buzz of a local college. We keep things simple and try to make sure every student has a desk to sit at. It’s just how we do things in Narwal.
