Aastik Muni Inter College

Located in Koriyan, which is part of the Ghatampur area in Kanpur Nagar, our college has been a fixture for the local community for some time. It is an inter college, meaning we have the older students finishing up their schooling before they head off to work or further studies. The school building is a bit old, with high ceilings and heavy doors. It is a busy place, especially in the mornings when everyone is arriving. We have a staff room that is always full of tea cups and stacks of notebooks. The playground isn't much, just a flat patch of ground where the students play cricket or sit in the sun during the winter months. We do not have a lot of high-tech stuff here. We still use chalkboards and hand-written attendance registers for the most part. It works for us. Life in Kanpur can be fast, but inside the college gates, things follow a slower, set routine. We have parents coming in to check on their children's progress, and we try to give them a straight answer. It is a basic school for people who live nearby. We do not spend money on fancy brochures. The money goes into keeping the roof in good shape and the teachers paid. It is a practical environment for learning, and we just keep it going year after year without making a big deal out of it. It’s just how things are done here.
