Out here on the NH-2 in Rooma, we are a bit away from the main Kanpur city noise. It is a large area, so we have plenty of space, which is good because once you get all the students in for the different courses, it gets crowded fast. Hathipur is a quiet enough spot most of the time. We spend most of our days making sure the labs are working and the library has the right books for the current semester. Being right on the highway means the commute can be a bit of a stretch for some, but there are buses that pass by frequently. The buildings are solid and functional. We do not have a lot of fancy decorations, just walls and desks and chairs that need occasional repairs after a long term. The administration office is always busy with someone needing a form signed or asking about their exam dates. In the winter months, it gets quite cold here in Uttar Pradesh, so everyone is wrapped up in heavy sweaters during the morning lectures. We have some green patches where students sit around on the grass between their classes. It is not a five-star hotel, it is just a college. We just try to get the teaching done and help the students find their way through the various courses. Most of the staff live nearby or travel in from other parts of Kanpur. It is a steady routine of lectures and lunch breaks.
