Raja Builders

We are located at a house called Archana in the Echikowal area of Pilicode post. This is up in Kasaragod district. Raja Builders is the name of our small construction firm. We have been working around here for quite some time now. Mostly we do small houses and some renovation work for people in the village. We don't have a big office in the town center. We just work from here at the house. There are usually some bags of cement or some tools lying around the yard. It's a busy place when we have a project going on. I spend a lot of my time talking to masons and carpenters. We have to make sure the materials arrive on time, which is hard when the roads are bad. The office is just one room with a large table where we look at the plans. It’s a bit messy with all the papers and site drawings. We don't do any big advertising campaigns. Most of our work comes from neighbors who saw a house we built nearby. We like living in Pilicode, it’s a good community. Sometimes the rain stops our work for weeks during the monsoon. We just wait it out and start again when the sun comes back. It's just simple building work, nothing like the big skyscrapers you see in the cities. We focus on making things solid. It takes a lot of patience to get things right.
