You can find Chimnapur Farmer Producer Company Limited at Ganpat Shankar Gadekar’s place in the village of Chimnapur. This is in the Kannad taluka. We are a small outfit made up of local farmers. We didn't have a lot of money to start with, so we just use what we have. Ganpat was kind enough to let us use his house for the meetings. We usually meet up after a long day in the fields. We talk about the rain, the pests, and why the prices are so low this year. Being a producer company means we try to pool our resources. We share tools and try to sell our grain together so we get a better deal. It’s a lot of talking and a lot of tea. Sometimes we don't get much done because we start talking about local news or family stuff. But we are a tight group. We have known each other since we were kids. Kannad is a nice area, but farming here has its own set of problems. We don't have a website or a big marketing plan. We just have our names and our word. If someone says they will bring their harvest on Tuesday, they do it. We are trying to make things a bit more organized so we don't struggle as much. It is a slow process, but we are getting there. We are just farmers trying to do right by our land and our families.
