You can find us at the home of Janabai Bandu Chikane in Takli, which is in the Kannad taluka. Our group is called Chikane Agro Shetkari Producer Company Limited. It’s a simple name for a simple goal, which is just farming together. Most of us here in Takli have been working the soil since we were kids. We know the Kannad area well and what grows best in this dirt. We started this company because it’s getting harder for a single farmer to manage everything from seeds to selling. By being a producer company, we can share the load a bit. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just what we’ve gathered over the years. It’s a lot of physical work, especially when the sun is high. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words or polished brochures. We just want to make sure our families can keep farming for another generation. Sometimes we gather at Janabai’s place to talk about the prices or the upcoming weather. It’s a local effort through and through. We handle things like pulses or whatever the season brings us. There isn't any big management here, just us farmers trying to figure things out as we go. It’s not always easy, but it’s the life we know. We value the time we spend in the fields and the fact that we can lean on each other when the work gets too heavy.
