Weldone Industries

Weldone Industries is located at No. 35 in the Developed Plot Estate over in Perungudi. If you know the area, it’s mostly industrial sheds and trucks moving in and out all day long. We have a decent-sized space here where we do our metal work and fabrication. It’s not the cleanest place in the world because there is always some grinding or cutting going on. Dust gets everywhere. We have a bunch of welding sets and some cutting tables spread across the floor. Our workers usually start early before it gets too hot inside the shed. By noon, it’s usually sweating weather, especially with the torches running. We don't really bother with big signs or flashy entrances. Usually, there are just some finished steel structures or pipes sitting outside waiting for a truck to pick them up. We take in jobs from various contractors around Chennai. Sometimes it’s just small brackets and other times it’s big frames that take up half the workshop. We don't have a receptionist or anyone like that. Usually, if the phone rings, one of the guys wipes their hands on a rag and picks it up. It’s a straightforward operation. We just focus on getting the welding done right so things don't fall apart later. It’s steady work and keeps everyone busy from Monday to Saturday. Sunday is the only time the place is actually quiet and the floor gets swept properly.
