Madras Tools

Our shop, Madras Tools, is situated at No. 29 in Panjaalpettu Village. We are right along the Chennai-Bangalore Highway, which is a great spot because there is always traffic and people moving between the two cities. It’s a dusty location given all the trucks zooming by, but it keeps us connected to a lot of different customers. We started out small and have just stayed here, serving the local village and the travelers who stop in. We keep a variety of tools in stock, mostly things that farmers or local builders might need. The building is simple, and we have a bit of a yard out front where we sometimes keep the larger items. It isn't a high-end retail store. It’s a place where you can walk in, get what you need, and have a quick chat before heading back out on the road. Sometimes the heat is a bit much in the afternoons, so we keep the shutters halfway down to stay cool. We don't have a website or any of that fancy stuff. People just know we are here on the highway. We’ve been part of the community for a long time, and we’ve seen the highway change from a two-lane road to what it is now. We just keep doing what we’ve always done, providing tools to the people who need them. It's just our way of making a living out here by the road.
