Genesis Diamond Tools

We are based at 3A, Shivas Bhagyam, on Kamarajar Street in Thoraipakkam. This part of Chennai has changed a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed right here on Kamarajar Street. Genesis Diamond Tools is where we spend most of our waking hours. We work with diamond tools, which is pretty specific stuff. It’s not something you see every day. The office in Shivas Bhagyam is simple. We have our desks and our storage area, and that’s about it. We don't see the point in spending a lot of money on decorations. We’d rather spend that time making sure the tools we provide are actually going to do the job. Thoraipakkam is a good area, though the traffic can get pretty bad during rush hour. We usually try to get in early to avoid the worst of it. It’s a small team here. We all know each other’s families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. We don't have a big corporate manual or anything like that. We just talk to each other and get the work done. If someone has a problem, we sit down and figure it out. It’s a very practical way of doing things. We’ve had some ups and downs like any business, but we keep showing up. We like the work we do and we like being in this part of town. It’s just a regular shop doing regular work.
