We’ve got our setup at Plot No. 7 in Satish Nagar, which is quite close to the Kanniamman Koil in Thirumudivakkam. It’s a good landmark to give people because otherwise, we can be a bit hard to find in this industrial layout. Even though we have CNC machines, it’s not some high-tech laboratory. It’s a working shop with oil on the floor and scraps of metal in the bins. We spend a lot of time programming the machines and then watching them do their thing, but there is still plenty of manual labor involved in loading and unloading. The area is usually busy with people moving back and forth between the different units. We know the sounds of our machines so well that we can tell if something is wrong just by listening while we’re having lunch. We don't have any corporate slogans on the walls, just the calendar and maybe some notes about current jobs. The weather in Thirumudivakkam can be tough, especially during the monsoon when the roads get muddy and the trucks struggle. We just keep the shop running regardless. Most of our customers are other small businesses around the city who need specific parts made. We don't make a big deal out of what we do; we just focus on getting the settings right and finishing the batch. It’s a practical, everyday sort of business where the work is the main thing on everyone’s mind.
