S F Patel & Sons

We operate out of the Madras Export Processing Zone in Tambaram. S F Patel & Sons is a family thing, and we have been at this Kadaperi location for quite a while now. Being in the MEPZ means there is a lot of security and rules to follow every morning when we come in. Our unit at A/24 is where all the work happens. It is mostly about managing the production and making sure the boxes are packed correctly. The noise from the other units nearby is something you get used to after a week or so. We have some long-term workers who have stayed with us through the years. It is a bit of a trek for some to get out here to Tambaram, but it works for the business. We do not spend much on making the place look pretty. It is a functional workspace with tables and tools and stacks of raw materials. Some mornings start very early when the trucks arrive. We just do what we need to do. There is no big corporate structure here, just us making sure the work gets finished. Sometimes we have tea together in the afternoon when things slow down a bit. We check the logs, count the inventory, and prepare for the next day. It is a lot of manual work but it keeps us going in this heat.
