Khodiyar Ceramics

Khodiyar Ceramics is located out at Plot No. 829 in the Kerala G.I.D.C. area, which is near Bavla. It is a bit of a drive from the main city, but it is a good spot for what we do. We work with ceramics every day. The air is often dusty because of the materials we use, but we are used to it by now. We have a large shed where we keep the kilns and the finished products. It gets quite hot in the summer, especially near the ovens. We are just a group of workers who know how to handle clay and fire. We do not have a fancy office or a receptionist. If you come by, you will probably see us in our work clothes, maybe with some clay on our hands. We make various ceramic items that people use in their homes or for building. It is steady work. We start early in the morning when it is still cool. The sound of the machinery is something we hear all day long. Sometimes we sit under the shade of a tree during our lunch break. We have been at this location for some years. People in Bavla know us as the local ceramic place. We do not do much advertising. Most of our business comes from word of mouth or people just stopping by the gate. We focus on making things that last. It is a simple life here, but we like being around the factory and the materials.
