If you know Thiruvanmiyur, you have probably seen us. We are at Vantage Plaza, right there on the corner of M.G. Road and L.B. Road. We are near the Adyar Bus Depot and right next to Hotel Ramprasad. It is a very busy corner. People are always coming and going from the bus stop or the hotel. Our shop is full of all kinds of things for the house. We have curtains, sofa fabrics, and upholstery. It is a lot of patterns and colors everywhere you look inside. We have been here for a long time, so we have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. But we stay right here. Most people find us because they were waiting for a bus or going to eat at the hotel next door. We do not have a big marketing budget. We just keep the shop looking full and talk to whoever walks in the door. Sometimes it gets really crowded inside when a few different families come in at once. We spend a lot of time helping people match colors and figure out how much fabric they need for their windows or sofas. It is not a high-pressure place. We just let people browse through the rolls of cloth. We have some regular tailors we work with too. Most of our day is just measuring cloth and writing out receipts. (248 words)
