Asian Walnuts

We operate out of Ag2, Casa Xs, which is right on the Manapakkam Main Road. It’s actually an apartment-style setup, so it doesn't look like a typical warehouse from the outside. We have to be careful about the noise so we don’t bother the neighbors too much. Inside, it’s mostly boxes of walnuts stacked against the walls. We spend our time cracking them open or sorting through the kernels to make sure they are good. The air in the room usually smells quite nutty. Since we are on the main road, the sound of traffic is constant, but it’s a good location for people to find us. We have a small table where we do the packaging and a scales that we have to calibrate every few days. It’s not a huge operation, just a few of us working together. We often have to move things around just to find a place to sit and have our lunch. The humidity in Manapakkam can be a bit much, so we have a dehumidifier running in the corner to keep the nuts from getting soft. People sometimes call us asking if they can just drop by, and we usually say yes as long as they don't mind the mess of boxes. We don’t have a proper front desk, so you just walk into the workspace. It’s a bit cramped but we make it work for what we need to do.
