Marudhar Granite

Marudhar Granite is over on 55 A. Ayyuo Street in Attur, which is part of Salem. We have been here for a while now. Salem is known for its stone and we are just one of the small businesses contributing to that. Our shop is on a regular street and we try not to block the way when the trucks come to unload. We have slabs of granite leaning against the walls in the yard. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, and we have to be careful not to chip the corners. People from Attur and the surrounding villages come to us when they are building a new house or fixing up an old one. We don't have a big sales team. Usually, it’s just one of us meeting you at the gate. We show you what we have in the stacks and tell you how much it costs. It’s a very direct way of doing business. The weather in Salem can be quite dry, which is good for keeping the yard from getting muddy. We use a lot of water for polishing the stones though. Our day usually starts with checking the orders and seeing what needs to be cut. It’s a steady life. We aren't looking to grow into a giant company, just to keep doing good work for the local folks who need granite for their homes.
