S. M. L. Granites

We are out on the I.T. Highway, specifically on the Old Kazhipattur Link Road. Being number 37, we have a decent amount of space for our granite stock. It’s a dusty environment because we are always moving these massive slabs around. The trucks come in from the quarries and we have to unload them carefully. It’s hard on the muscles. The link road can get quite congested with all the new buildings going up around here. We see the big tech parks from our yard, which is a bit of a contrast to our pile of rocks. It’s a simple operation. We don’t have a fancy showroom with air conditioning. Most of the time we are outside in the heat showing customers the patterns in the stone. Rain or shine, we are usually out there. The granite comes in all sorts of colors and we try to keep a good variety. It’s a bit of a rough-and-tumble business. We don’t use any corporate scripts. We just tell you what the stone is and what it costs. It’s been our life for a while now. Some days the dust is everywhere and you just want to go home, but then a new batch of beautiful stone arrives and you get back to work. It’s a solid way to spend a day and it keeps us busy from morning until evening.
