If you head down to the Sidco Industrial Estate in Thirumudivakkam, you’ll find us. We are LAPMaster Wolters India, located at Survey No. 229 and No. 92. It’s quite a way out in the Kanchipuram district, so the commute is a bit of a trek for some of us. The estate is huge and always has a lot of noise from the different factories. Our place is where we handle the big machines for lapping and polishing. It’s industrial work, so it’s often hot and a bit oily. We have technicians who have been working with these machines for decades. They know every sound the engines make. The office part is just a small section partitioned off from the main floor. We don't have fancy furniture, just sturdy desks and plenty of blueprints. During the monsoon, the roads around the village can get a bit messy, but we still make it in. Lunch is usually a shared affair with everyone bringing something from home. We don't go in for big speeches or meetings. Usually, we just gather around a machine to figure out a problem. It’s hard work, and by the end of the day, everyone is ready to head home. We’ve been part of this industrial landscape for a long time and have seen many other companies come into the estate. It’s a busy, practical place to be.
