Our place is over at the Sidco Industrial Estate in Thirumudivakkam, covering plots Ac7 through Ac11. It’s a pretty large area because we need plenty of space for all the transmission equipment we handle on a daily basis. Being in an industrial estate means we are surrounded by other factories and workshops, so there is always the sound of machinery and trucks moving around in the air. We spend our days working on gearboxes and different types of power transmission units. The floor is organized, but it’s definitely a working factory environment through and through. There is always the smell of oil and the steady hum of testing rigs going on in the background. We have a lot of different people doing different jobs, from the initial assembly to the final quality checks. It’s not always quiet, and it certainly isn't a desk job for most of us here. We focus on putting things together correctly. If a gear is off by even a tiny bit, the whole unit won't work, so we have to be very careful with our hands and tools. We don't really go for fancy office decor or anything like that. Our focus is strictly on the benches and the parts laid out for assembly. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and have seen the estate grow around us. It’s just where we come every day to build things that help other machines move. It’s steady work and we just try to do it right.
