We’ve been here at No. 1-5 on Seven Wells Street for quite a while now. St. Thomas Mount is a busy area and our spot is right in the middle of all that activity. Mostly, we spend our days dealing with different kinds of flavors and fragrances. It’s a lot of mixing, measuring, and checking containers. You can usually tell what’s going on inside just by walking past the front gate because the smells carry quite a bit. Some mornings it’s a strong fruity scent and other times it’s something more flowery. We have a lot of trucks coming in and out to pick up orders or drop off raw materials, so the narrow street gets a bit cramped. The building itself isn't anything fancy, just a practical space where we can get the work done. The guys in the warehouse are always busy moving drums around or labeling boxes for shipment. We take our tea breaks together and talk about the local news or whatever is happening on the street. It’s a lot of manual labor and standing on your feet, but that’s the nature of the business. We don't really do much in the way of fancy meetings; we just get our lists for the day and start working through them. It can get pretty hot in the afternoons, but we keep the fans going and try to stay on top of the schedule. The local shops around us are where we get our snacks. It's a tight-knit little community here in the Mount.
