Mahakanta Organic Producer Company Limited

Our company, Mahakanta Organic Producer Company Limited, is located in Uchhala, which is part of the Bhawanipatna area in Kalahandi. We operate out of Jambukesh Bhoi’s place. It’s a local setup through and through. We work with organic products and the people who grow them. In this part of Orissa, farming is what everyone knows. We spend a lot of our time talking to producers and trying to get the logistics sorted out. It’s not always easy because the roads aren't great and sometimes communication is slow. We don't have fancy corporate suits or big meetings in boardrooms. Most of our meetings happen over a cup of tea in the office or out near the fields. We are a small team and we all have to do a bit of everything. One day I might be doing the books and the next I’m helping load a truck. That’s just how it goes here. We spend a lot of time out on the land and with the people who work it. It’s a quiet life in Uchhala, but we like it that way. Our office is a place where people can just walk in and talk to us. We don't have any big slogans or promises. We just try to get the organic stuff from the farm to the market without too many problems. It’s a steady job and we’re glad to be doing it here in our home district. It keeps us busy.
