Mahadevi Organic Producer Company Limited is based in Bhawanipatna, right here in the Kalahandi district. We are set up at Hukum Budhia’s place. Like a lot of businesses in this part of Orissa, we are focused on organic production. It’s a lot of work coordinating with all the different people involved. We aren't some big city operation with a lot of money to spend on advertising. We just rely on the work we do every day. The office is pretty basic. We have some desks, chairs, and a lot of paperwork piled up. Sometimes it feels like we are drowning in forms, but that’s just part of the business. We know the local farmers well. They are the ones doing the real heavy lifting. We just try to help organize things so their products can get sold. The weather here can be really tough, especially when it gets hot, but we just keep the fans running and stay at it. We don't use a lot of fancy language or try to act like we are bigger than we are. We are just a local company trying to make things work. Most people in the area know Hukum Budhia, so finding us isn't too hard. We’ve been at this for a while now and we’ve learned a lot along the way. It’s a modest living, but it’s honest and it keeps us connected to the community. We just keep moving forward one step at a time.
