Jaythuamul Rampur Organic Farmer Producer Company Limited is located right in Gopinathpur. We are based at Ramchandra Nayak’s house in the Thuamul Rampur area. Kalahandi can be a tough place to work sometimes because of the distances, but we manage. This part of Orissa is where we all grew up, so we know the land well. Our setup is very basic. We use a room in the house to keep our records and meet with the other farmers. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we usually start very early in the day. There’s a lot to do when you’re running a producer company in a rural tahasil like this. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just our names on the documents. People just walk over when they want to join in or ask a question. Gopinathpur is a small community, so word travels fast around here. We spend a lot of time discussing the rains and the soil quality. It isn't a glamorous life, but it's what we do. We try to keep things organized despite the challenges of being so far out from the big towns. Ramchandra’s place serves as our main hub for everything. We have a few ledgers and some basic tools stored there. It’s a straightforward operation for local people who understand the struggle of farming. We just keep moving forward with our daily routines in Thuamul Rampur.
