Maakanjikuplen Producer Company Limited is situated at Sri Krushna Goud’s residence in Karatikli. We are part of the Kalam area, not too far from Bhawanipatna. The group is made up of local farmers who decided to team up. It started with a few of us talking over the fence about how the market was changing. We realized that if we worked together, we might have a better chance of getting things done. The office is just a small space where we keep the registers and have our meetings. We don't have any corporate training or fancy degrees. We just know about farming and the local land. Most days, we are out in the fields seeing how the crops are coming along. When it’s time to sell, we coordinate to get the trucks in and move the produce. It can be quite stressful when the weather is unpredictable, but having the company helps us stay organized. We talk to the other growers in Karatikli and Kalam to see what they need. Sometimes it's seeds, and other times it's just advice on a specific pest. We don't pretend to have all the answers, but we try to figure things out as we go. It’s a practical way of living, and we take pride in the work we do with our hands. We are just local people looking after our own interests and trying to make the community a bit stronger by staying connected through the company.
