Our company, Kalahandi Pulse Farmers Producer Company Limited, is located at Plot No-24 in Jajalya Deypur. It’s near Dadpur, not too far from Bhawanipatna. If you’re driving through that way, you’ll see the fields stretching out everywhere you look. We focus on the pulse crops that grow well in the Kalahandi soil. The office is just a practical space where we store our tools and the paperwork for the producer group. It’s often quite warm, so we keep the fans going all day to stay comfortable. We aren't trying to be some high-tech outfit. We’re just local people who know about farming pulses and want to work together. We spend a lot of time talking to the farmers from Jajalya and the surrounding villages. It’s a lot of coordination, making sure the harvest is handled right and the seeds for next year are ready. Some days we just sit and drink tea while we wait for a delivery to arrive at the plot. It’s a patient kind of work. We don't use fancy talk; we just say things as they are. The roads around Dadpur can be a bit rough after the monsoon, but we make do. We’ve been here for a while now, and everyone knows where Plot 24 is. It’s a place for work, and we try to keep it organized even when things get hectic during the harvest season. It's a lot of work, but we take it day by day.
