It’s a quiet spot, mostly surrounded by fields and trees. We started this company to bring together the producers in our village. There are no fancy signs or glass windows here. It is just a house where we keep our registers and meet up to talk about the crops. Biswanath is kind enough to let us use his space as the main office. We spend most of our time outdoors anyway, so we don't need much. Kalahandi has its challenges, but we are used to the hard work. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just want to make sure the farmers get a fair deal for what they grow. Sometimes we have meetings under the shade of a tree when it gets too hot inside the house. It’s a very local way of doing things, but it feels right for us. We know everyone in Kaugopana and they know us. We are just trying to help each other out and keep our community going. It’s simple, honest work and we don't try to make it sound like more than it is. We are just a group of neighbors doing our best with what we have. It’s been a long road but we keep moving.
